There are many parks around in town where you can have a contained fire and cook food outdoors.

A great place to have a hot dog roast, and bring some sand toys to hang out. Even a nice calm place to paddle board or just take in one of the many trails in the area. There is an info building here with loads of summer programs within the Switzer park.
