For recreation there is hiking in the valley and nearby conservancy areas, biking on country roads, or cross-country, downhill or snowshoeing during the snowy months. Hawthorne is a 2-hour drive from NYC or a 2-hour Amtrak ride from Penn Station to Hudson, and then a 20 minute drive by car or taxi. The house is conveniently close to the Taconic Parkway, while set in a peaceful and quiet valley.

The Residence provides a wonderful for base for enjoying all that the Berkshires have to offer, though guests may decide to spend much of their stay exploring the rustic beauty of the property itself.

This home is where my husband grew up and has been in his family for many years. It's currently my father-in-law's summer house and is in various stages of updating. The village of Housatonic is one of our favorite places on Earth!
