Aurland in fall, during our stay, was phenomenal. Golden yellow trees and crisp cool air accompanied us on our local hikes . Marit’s guidance throughout our stay was very helpful and resulted in a relaxing vacation. We would love to come back in another season to experience this quaint town in more ways!

We had a wonderful stay at this place! Marit was a fantastic host with great communication and helpful recommendations. The house is very cozy and welcoming, it immediately felt like home. The view over the fjord is absolutely stunning, constantly changing with the light and weather. The location is incredibly peaceful, which made it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. If you’re looking for tranquility and natural beauty, this is the place. Highly recommended – we’d love to come back!

My two cousins and I spent two peaceful nights and 1-1/2 days relaxing, recuperating, and enjoying Aurland with this lovely apartment as a home base. Imagine opening your curtains in the morning and seeing the view of the fjord, just as pictured. Marit provided sheepskins for the deck chairs for viewing the fjord and sipping coffee. The apartment is one mile from Aurland, a beautiful, relatively flat walk along the fjord. It takes 20 minutes to reach town—if you don’t stop every 50 feet to take another photo, as we did. Marit could not have been a more welcoming and helpful host. We recommend the floating sauna near the Aurland kai. It was fun chatting with three other travelers in the sauna and encouraging each other to dip into the fjord between 15-minute sauna sits. Invigorating! Also, don’t miss the Aurland Shoe Factory, home of the authentic penny loafer (now in many colors). We highly recommend this wonderful place.
