A 16th century monastery perched on the hill of Kefalos- a non-active volcano- sitting on the preserved ruins of a Venetian castle built in the 15th century and the remains of a number of predating christian worshipping sites. Its importance lies in the fact that it was the last castle kept by the Venetians before the Ottoman rule. When the admiral of the Turkish fleet pirate Barbarossa had taken over the island, the Venetian lord Sommaripa barricaded his army in the Castle of Kefalos and resisted, only to be defeated in 1537. It is now an idyllic spot to go and watch the sunset with a bottle of wine. It can be reached by foot from the village of Marpissa, but it's also accessible by car.

On the right side of Molos beach is “Antikefalos” hill. In the foothills of this hill were the ancient potteries of Paros while at the top of it is located the monastery of St. Anthonio. Around it, there are still remains of a Venetian castle that was destroyed by the famous pirate “Barbarossa” in 1537. Enjoy trekking or biking from Anemones Studios up to the top of this hill.
