The trail of tears started in Murphy NC. The museum has a wonderful tour full of history. Walking distance from RETREAT 104.

Museum was founded in 1977 and is in the Carnegie Library building built in 1922. Great place to learn the history of the Cherokee people very educational filled with so many artifacts, which cover a lot of history, and if you ever want to know about the Trail Of Tears a place to start is here.

This area is FULL of Native American history. The Trail of Tears went right through Murphy. This quaint museum is worth the stop!

This museum is located in downtown Murphy :) Make this part of your day to visit and then have some lunch at The Daily Grind or dinner at Legends Steakhouse :)
