If you really want to get a feel for the old world San Francisco working class community, check out Clooney's during a game. They open at 6:00 in the morning, and people here are laid back and mellow. Some businesses feel like their own universe—you walk in and you're completely transported to another place. Clooney's is going to give you that. Friday nights they have happy hour, but the place is great anytime.

In the heart of the mission, this dive bar has an amazing little kitchen (if you like ribs, that is). Call ahead and ask the chef if he has ribs and save yourself an order.

Tucked away inside this otherwise miserable bar is Ron's Pit Stop, where an old timer serves up AMAZING barbeque for ridiculously small sums of money. Order the food to go. You can call in your order by phone, or via Yelp.

Just around the corner, I love my local dive bar. It's patrons have been coming here for years, and they have that San Francisco character. Sunday nights are real fun with the bartender and his music.
