Public transit is basically non-existent in Rapid City especially if you want to see the Black Hills so if you're flying in, you'll need to rent a car. The largest selection of car rentals are by the airport, which is 6 miles outside of town.

We have city taxis & Lyft to get people around town if needed. There are also car rental agencies at the airport.
