This gallery is one fourth of the Pastificio “group” that includes a restaurant, artist studio space and event space all in the up-and-coming hipster haven, San Lorenzo. Founded in 2004 in a former pasta factory, the Pastificio Foundation focuses on education, making art accessible and “promoting and disseminating contemporary art.

An important example of industrial archeology that lives on thanks to the artists who transformed it into their home and their ateliers. The history of reconversion begins already at the dawn of the seventies. The spaces of the building are rented to artists who transform it into a place to live and work. In the early Eighties, thanks to the Ateliers exhibition (curated by Achille Bonito Oliva), the Pastificio opens its doors to the public for the first time and from this moment, every year more, it becomes a cultural reference point of the Capital frequented by artists, critics, exponents of the show and many others. In 2002, it was decided to equip the pasta factory with a space, always open to the public, for contemporary art.
