Colorado's first official Creative District and its largest Historic District, Salida also appreciates its outdoor enthusiasts. So walking down F Street is an adventure where you'll meet artists, river rats, historians, farmers, remote workers and so much more. Good food and drink and plenty to do. Watch for free live music.
Salida has it all. Great dining, shopping, trails, and a white water park right in the middle of town. Do yourself a favor and rent a duckie and float from stone bridge into downtown. Level 1-2.5 rapids depending on water flow. Simply gorgeous and low risk if you have some paddling experience.
A one hour drive away. Cool city on the Arkansas River. The Heart of the Rockies. White water rafting. Biking. Lots of cafes, breweries, restaurants, galleries etc
Little Mtn town never Buena Vista called Salida. More wonderful, food, shops and people.
RIO VISTA is situated on the banks of the Arkansas River just 3 blocks from historic downtown Salida. Whatever the season, there’s a ton to see and do in Salida. Skiing at Monarch (just 30 minutes away), tubing or paddle boarding down the river, soaking in the nearby hot springs, rafting, hiking, mountain biking, premier fishing, art, and music festivals and so much more. Salida is a dog-friendly, family-friendly (well, heck...we're just friendly) town and you'll feel like locals right out of the gate.
