One mile away on Tarpon Bay Rd. Excellent fresh, local seafood and drinks. Best selling author Randy Wayne White’s books are for sale here. He was a local fishing charter captain, turned restaurant owner and author of mysteries with local settings. Great beach reading.

A must do while you are here. Great restaurant and rum bar. Yucatán shrimp is a must try! Black beans and rice and fish dishes are superb.

“Seafood market and restaurant the timbers is one of the foremost seafood restaurants on the island. Their homemade oatmeal bread is amazing as is their blue crab bisque. A little slice of heaven! Each meals are prepared with care and are top of the line. Timbers is known for its famous crunchy grouper and serves hearty portions of simply prepared seafood. ”

Museum
“For everyone who has ever picked up a sea shell and wondered, "where did this come from?". Or, "what kind of creature made this?". Located on Sanibel Island, (not Pine Island): check drive times, depending on how busy tourist season is. Note: the Shell Museum is not far from Sanibel's Bowman's Beach. Arrive early AM for a parking spot. ”
