A beautiful, flat one mile hike to the lagoon and dunes and then beautiful beach walking in either direction for miles. Otters are often spotted in the lagoon and it's one of the best birding spots in Point Reyes.
There's a fabulous hike to a brackish lagoon, with great sand dunes leading to the wild Pacific Ocean. Good place to spot otters, birds, coyotes, bobcats and deer. I've even seen badgers here.
This 3.6 mile round trip hike through open pastureland along side Abbotts Lagoon to the Ocean. It is well-traveled and has limited parking so leave early and bring a lunch and plenty of water.
