Craggy Gardens is a nice easy 2 mile roundtrip hike with huge long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The drive is between 45 minutes - 1 hour and is mostly on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a great hike anytime, but during the Spring the Azaleas & Rhododendron are in full bloom and are very pretty.

Distance: 1.9 Miles Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Dog-Friendly: Yes When the rhododendrons are in bloom, Craggy Gardens is one of the best hikes in Asheville! You get there by driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway (fun!) and you'll hike through a rocky, rhododendron-covered forest with tall grasses, wildflowers, and wild blueberries in the last summer months. While in the area, you can also hike to the top of Craggy Pinnacle for 360-degree views from the summit, or hike along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail if you're looking to add some miles to your journey!

Craggy Gardens is a very beautiful (but often crowded) hike off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a short hike so easily done with children.
