The Church of St. Francis Designed by John of Simon and built after 1276, is a church with a single nave, a beautiful bell tower and a cloister of the fifteenth century. The church hosts works of Jacopo da Empoli, Taddeo Gaddi and Santi di Tito. In the chapel of the family of Gherardesca You will find the graves of Ugolino della Gherardesca and his children. The church is cited from 1233. Desired by the Archbishop Frederick Visconti, adjoining a Franciscan convent, contained and contains many private chapels belonging to Pisan noble families such as that of the family of Gherardesca Precisely.
