In the beginning of the Meiji era, village oeople had used the tombstones to repair the embankment of Yamato River. In the event of the renovation of the river after the war, the Jizo statue appeared from the bottom of the river. The stone statue of Jizo, mixed with the tombstones, may have been used for embankment reinforcement.
