The Dutchess Rail Trail is a 13-mile rail trail that stretches from the former Hopewell Junction train depot, north to the Poughkeepsie entrance of the Walkway over the Hudson. It's a shared use rail trail open for pedestrians and bicyclers. The Dutchess Rail Trail forms part of the proposed Empire State Trail.
If you enjoy biking, this is a long route that you can get on, about a mile away from your space. This trail takes you all the way to the Hudson River - Bring snacks and water!!
This is a treasure in the Hudson Valley of New York. You can actually ride all the way across the river on the Walkway Over The Hudson to Highland. It's a great ride with numerous scenic views. It's also a great walking or jogging trail. It's very family friendly and the vibe is always good.
