Now Called the Cat Bird The historic Garfield Inn is steeped in history. Originally known as the Charles G. Learned House, it was built as a private home and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We feel fortunate to be able to bring some life back to such a grand home and even more fortunate to be a part of the Port Austin community. At Catbird, we have created a menu reflecting our commitment to simple, beautiful, seasonal food sourced primarily from Michigan - our farm-to-table approach. We focus on the best ingredients and make our food with only the utmost care. Our bar program is designed to complement our food and is where you will find thoughtfully chosen wines, local and global brews, and craft cocktails to suit the seasons. With a passion for hospitality and entertaining, our goal is to create a dining experience akin to a great dinner party because nothing brings more joy than a great meal with friends. Our desire is to create something truly special by uniting the highest standards and attention to detail with the warmth and happiness of feeding the people we call friends. Sharing that experience is the heart and soul of Catbird.
