Chavis Park is a nearly 30-acre public park just outside of downtown. Known for the Chavis Park Carousel, the park is named after John Chavis, a free Black educator, Presbyterian minister, and American Revolutionary War veteran. It includes a playground, tennis courts, pool and other recreational space.

Another great family fun spot--enjoy some skyline views while all ages of children enjoy the amenities this park has to offer!

Lots of fun family things here. They have a huge play structure, splash pads, a greenway trail, and even a carousel.
