A hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes and bridges. The park preserves the Waterpocket Fold, which is a ripple in the earths crust that is 100 miles long. 86 Miles from the cabin

Unique and not overly crowded National Park. Many great trails and scenic drives. Great fruit orchards and early settler history. Great pie at the Gifford House.

Great place to pick fresh fruit right off the trees. Recommended hikes include Hickman Bridge, The Grand Wash, Sulphur Creek, Upper Muley Twist Trail.

Capitol Reef is my personal favorite of Utah's National Parks due to it's low-key vibe and uncrowded nooks and crannies. It's located 70 miles north of Escalante and takes about 1.5 hrs to get there by car via the spectacular Highway 12.
