When this bridge was built in 1877, it was the highest railroad trestle in the world.
Take a short scenic drive through “blue-grass” countryside and picnic at “High Bridge Park.” Look across at the historic railway bridge, built in 1879, and down at the Kentucky River 275 feet below.
Great scenic overlook of the river! You'll see your stay below you. There's a playground and pavilions for picnics. 4 mins away.
Approx 25 minutes away from the cottage this high span railroad bridge dates back to right around the Civil War. Still used today - it's a must see for train buffs. While there be sure and drive down the road to see the lock just below the bridge.
