A half a century after the McHenry Brewery stopped brewing beer, Chain O'Lakes Brewing Company brought back craft beer to the city, McHenry County and to the Chain O'Lakes region in 2013! Now after 5 years, our Assistant Brewer, Bob Master bought the brewhouse and will reopen as @McHenry Brewing Co. during Febuary 2018. With the installation of our micro brewery in a historic, turn-of-the-century building brings with it the return of fresh, handcrafted ales to our community. A far cry from the mainstream lager-brewery products, the Chain O'Lakes Brewing Company beers are produced from only the finest malted barley extracts, generous amounts of fresh hops, water and specially selected ale yeasts. The end result is a selection of unfiltered, unpasteurized ales in a variety of classic beer styles. Chain O'Lakes Brewing Company craft beers can be enjoyed at the peak of freshness directly from the serving tanks, or taken home to enjoy as well.
