21 Minute Drive If you’re looking to access one of the best views Massanutten has to offer via your own two feet, look no further than the Massanutten Ridge Trail. This 4.5-mile, moderately trafficked out-and-back, offers stellar views of the nearby ski area and the mountains surrounding Massanutten. To access the trailhead, start at the parking lot at the end of Del Webb Drive. For an added bonus, consider timing your hike with a sunrise or a sunset, and be sure to come prepared with sturdy hiking boots and plenty of water! Difficult | Blue Blazes - 2.25 miles (each way) Beginning at the wooden steps above the Overlook, this scenic trail winds along Massanutten’s rough and rocky ridge and joins the access road near the ski slopes. The trail’s turnaround point features a magnificent panorama overlooking our ski slopes. This trail is closed November 1 – January 7 except on Sundays due to hunting season.

Tough, technical but beautiful trail. Markers are sometimes hard to follow but they are there and still highly recommended. Allow several extra hours and make sure to go all the way to the lookout just past the towers.

This is a challenging hike to the summit of massanutten mountain. It will require some scrambling around boulders and narrow pathways. The summit gives one of the most breathtaking views in the area, but be warned, it is a difficult hike.

Rated difficult. Rocky. But some great views as you walk the ridge around the Resort's bowl or 'kettle' as locals call it! Parking is at the Massanutten Overlook (follow signs for this). Closed Nov 1-Jan 30 for hunting. Opposite the Ridge Trail, north, is the Kaylors Knob Trail, rated as "moderate" with Blue Blazes, 1.5 miles each way. Both trails closed Nov1 – Jan 7 except on Sundays due to hunting season.
