Discover the wonders of the medieval castle, built during the 1240 by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. Situated on a hill in the municipality of Andria, the fortress has an octagonal shape with an octagonal tower on each corner. In 1996 Castel del Monte was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which described it as "a unique masterpiece of medieval military architecture".

Unisco World Heritage site. Featured on the back of the Euro penny as well. Great views from the top, and the castle is featured in the lore of the knights templar. For movie buffs, they also filmed scenes from Wonder Woman here.
