Sightseeing

Ložišća is a small place situated on a steep stone glade with perfectly harmonized stone houses, just 2 km from the sea. The first thing you will notice is the bell tower of the St. John and Paul Church that stands out as one of the most beautiful of all Croatian islands. We can say this is a typical Dalmatian place with a distinctive island building style. It is also a proof of the crude reality of Brač karst and their strange choice to build their houses on the rock so they could live off the land that surrounds them, engaging in stone quarrying, olive growing, wine growing and exploitation of the arable land.

Vladimir Nazor birth home - besides its architectural value, is also a memorial to the great Croatian poet who spent his childhood here. Close to the house is the statue of Vladimir Nazor himself. Gligo castle - its large courtyard is surrounded by the three wings of the castle and a large defensive wall to the sea. Marinčević-Gligo family came to the fore in the late 17th century. Their castle is a valuable Baroque fortification, at the time important for the defense of the harbor, as well as the interior Brač. Viewpoint - this symbolic tower, some call a sceninc viewpoint, made up of three concrete pillars and frieze, is somewhat hidden from view.
