Built in the style of the Outer Banks' inns of the 19th Century and enhanced with modern conveniences, the charm and comfort found in these rooms will greet you at every turn. Our King Standard rooms are positioned on either the first floor (accessible by ramp) or second floor (accessible by stairs only) of the Inn and offer 320 sq feet of space. Just steps away from all the excitement and exploration that Downtown Manteo offers. Tranquil House Inn is managed by North State Hospitality.

This upstairs 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment is the perfect beach getaway. Located off the beaten path in a quaint, residential neighborhood this gem lies in the middle of local heritage and traditional Hatteras Island vibes. Just a short walk to the beach, legendary surf breaks and the Rodanthe Fishing Pier. Property includes a shared swimmimg pool. Formerly the Sea Sound Motel, this property is still family owned and operated. We are updating the spaces and keeping all the charm!

Enjoy the comforts of our two-bedroom suite which can accommodate 6 people. The suite features a kitchen with a four-burner cooktop (no oven), a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and cookware to make your extended stay feel more like home. Each bedroom offers a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom. Sleeper sofa in the living room. The suite is located on the third floor and offers a balcony view overlooking the pool. The property does not have an elevator.

IGH #2-Queen: Dog Friendly Near Downtown Manteo

For generations vacationers have sought the unique tranquility of Roanoke Island as their overnight resting place while enjoying the Outer Banks playground by day. This room is located at the Island Guest House in historic Manteo. Two (2) night minimum stay on weekends. THIS ROOM IS PET FRIENDLY. Pet fee is $40 per pet for the first night, and $25 per pet per night for consecutive nights, charged at check-in.
