Guests of Villa Ataraxia are welcome at the shared pools, restaurants, tennis club and equestrian center at Sea Horse Ranch, as well as the newly renovated beach club. The villa itself has incredible private outdoor living areas, from a veranda with sitting and dining areas to a sunny terrace around the pool with loungers and sunbeds. Practice your swing on the putting green, follow the steps toward the ocean to a postcard-worthy vantage point or sip cocktails under the palapa as you wait for the gas barbecue to heat up.

The villa’s name, Ataraxia, translates to calm or tranquility, and the home’s interiors live up to it with a thoroughly charming and serene ambience. Starting in the dramatic foyer, whose beamed ceilings soar 35 feet overhead, the property’s craftsmanship is evident in the Mexican terracotta tile floors and mahogany woodwork. Entertain friends and family beneath a massive wrought-iron chandelier in the living room, around the formal dining table or in a more casual fashion at the granite-topped breakfast bar in the fully equipped kitchen.

This European-inspired villa puts guests close to some of the best beaches and wind-sport conditions in the Caribbean. Villa Ataraxia is only a short drive from both the Sea Horse Ranch Beach Club and local favorites Laguna Beach and Sosua Beach. The nearby town of Cabarete is a great place to shop and dine, but is renowned for its constant breezes and an ideal spot to try out windsurfing or kiteboarding.
