Amakhaya by the sea is an entire self contained cottage with its own garden overlooking the shores of False Bay, with picturesque views, whales, penguins & seals it is the perfect place to unwind. Close by are the world renowned Boulder's Beach penguin colony; mountain climbing behind the cottage, access to deep sea fishing, diving and kayaking at Simon's Town Waterfront & Harbor; as well as scenic Cape Point Nature Reserve. Quaint coffee shops & restaurants line the streets of this historic Simon's Town.

We, Rob, Stacey, Isla & our playful dogs Betsy & Benji would love to welcome you to our cozy, sunlit garden cottage. A perfect spot to rest after exploring what Cape Town has to offer. We love the proximity our home has to fun Fish Hoek beach and local shops and are happy to share tips, potentially tours, of the surrounding attractions if guests don't mind Rob's booming personality and improv skills! That said, if peace and quiet is all you're looking for, we are more than happy to accommodate!

Cape Point Mountain Getaway - Cottage

This is one of Cape Town's environmental and historic treasures. It is a candle-lit hideaway with stunning views of mountain and sea. The Cottage is completely off grid, with fresh water coming off the mountain and energy from the sun. The cottage is built from local materials - stone walls, reed ceilings, blue gum supports. There are glass doors and windows throughout the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom includes a tub, a toilet and a basin.

Sandy Toes, Log Burner Nights & Wi-Fi

Protea Beach Cottage is a 3 min walk to the beach, with no main roads to cross, so ideal for families with small children. Sandy beach with some rocks but can swim at high tide. Wi-Fi. DSTV Easy View (basic) DVD player with movies. 7 min walk to Harbour Island with Ocean Basket & Antonios, for great pizza. 13min walk across dunes into GB with shops & restaurants inc Spur right on the beach. For larger groups you can book Lente Cottage (3 doors down) & Protea Cottage together for 12 guests

Under milkwoods

This house is built directly above a secluded beach in Gordon's Bay. It has five majestic milkwood trees and an indigenous garden. The sea is often calm and the sandy beach is suitable for children. There are rock pools and cormorants and seals in the bay. The harbour and the village are within walking distance. The house sleeps four people, but only one bedroom is fully enclosed; the rest of the house is open plan. Sam lives upstairs and will be there to welcome you on your arrival.

Heidi’s Barn, Franschhoek

Situated on a small holding 5km outside Franschhoek, opposite the exquisite La Motte Wine Estate, Heidi’s Barn offers the perfect self-catering base from which to explore the Winelands. A fire pit, outdoor dining area and a large swimming pool (shared with one other cottage) are perfect for summertime relaxation while an indoor wood-burning fireplace and wooden floors throughout make for a cosy winter escape. The barn runs on mains power with solar back up for load shedding.

Fully equipped 2 bedroom ‘Out-of-Africa’ bungalow. Self-catering. Sleeps 4 adults in 2-single beds, 1-queen/double. Loft area w/ skylight views of ocean and a full-size couch. Spacious lounge/dining/kitchen area connects to verandah. Separate bath/shower/toilet. Overlooks RE Nature Reserve with magnificent, unobstructed sunset views of False Bay. 150m to sea. The well-equipped cottage with 24/7 electricity and air conditioning is located next to a private family home. It sleeps 2 adults and 2 children can be accommodated in the open-plan loft. The cottage has access to several hikes onto Table Mountain National park, 8 minutes away from the beach, some beautiful restaurants and shops.

Stone Pine Cottage, Hout Bay

The stone & wood cottage nestles in a wild garden, the bay, beach and village just a kilometer away. The previous owner, a bachelor in his day, used to entertain girl-friends here – and romance still rules in the one-roomed stone cottage, where the mezzanine bedroom has mountain and sea views.

The poolroom is a compact flatlet, flooded with natural light from the large windows and doors which lead on to and overlook the garden and swimming pool. Soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided, as well as a hairdryer and swimming towels.
