Excellent high quality dishes - albeit smallish serves - I recommend here if you have plenty of time for small delectable treats with a nice Pinot Gris as you soak up the Melbourne riverside ambience

Modern Japanese restaurant - not the cheapest around but very good!

Sake Restaurant and Bar’s riverside hold-out is so close to the water you can almost reach across and hop on a tour boat while you sit outdoors just below Hamer Hall.

Double crunch roll, wagyu gyoza, and fried chicken...OMG to die for.

Contemporary Japanese restaurant where you will expect soft braised pork belly in a delicate miso broth with a fudgy, slow poached egg, daikon and notes of truffle oil. It’s tasty stuff, but fresh fish is what Sake does best. Bright hand rolls filled with sweet scallops, or crisp-fried soft-shell crab; perfect nigiri topped with fatty salmon belly, or a stunning sashimi set of snapper, tuna and scampi cut with razor-sharp precision and laid out across rough-hewn boulders of ice. Sake ain’t cheap but there are some fun dishes and decent drinks to be had here.
