Kyoto Botanical Garden was built on land donated by the Mitsui family to Kyoto city to commemorate the enthronement of the Emperor Taisho, in 1924. It is the oldest botanical garden in Japan and is blessed with over 12,000 species of plants.

It is said to be the botanical garden that represents Japan. Approximately 12,000 kinds of plants are cultivated in the vast park. Not only seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms and plums, but also many places here which have the concept of 'interesting' such as 'Shikisai no Oka' and 'Western style garden'. You can enjoy just sightseeing, just taking a walk in nature. There re many lunch restaurants and cafe around here.
