Phillip Island is ideal for boating access in the port and access to Bass Strait. Fishing opportunities on local jetties, surf beaches and around the coastline. Book on a local charter and enjoy an adventure with a friend, or head to one of the many jetties and piers to try your luck! Local fishing charters include Reel Obsession Fishing Charters, T- Cat Fishing Charters and The Island Charter Boat. For all your fishing supplies, check out Jim's Bait and Tackle, San Remo. At present, a licence is required for leisure fishing in Western Port, and there are regulations on the minimum size of fish, bait gathering and the techniques allowable for taking of various species. There are also strict regulations for boaters regarding approaching wildlife such as whales. Please make sure you are familiar with these regulations to avoid getting finned. There are also specific boating regulations pertaining to Victorian waterways. These regulations relate to boating matters such as boat licenses, safety, life jackets, flares and consumption of alcohol. Please check with the Marine Safety Board of Victoria or obtain a copy of the Victorian Boating Guide, available at police stations and fishing outlets.

Phillip Island, a popular day trip from Melbourne, lies just off Australia’s southern coast. At Summerland Beach, spectators gather daily at sunset to watch the Penguin Parade, when Little penguins come ashore in groups. The Nobbies outcrop is the viewing site for Seal Rocks, home to a large colony of Australian fur seals. The Phillip Island Circuit is a well-known track for motorcycle and car racing.
