It might seem unsafe but it is a safe neighborhood. Also Jay-z used to live nearby ;)
It's the largest historically black neighborhood in New York. Theres a lot of history to see here and the nightlife is quite vibrant. Their are many generational blacks who own there homes in the area. Go to BrownstoneJazz to meet some of them.
I moved to Bedstuy in 2019 after living in Williamsburg for 15 years, however I have been working in the area for 5 years which is how I came to love it. I'll add more recommendations as I get to know the neighbourhood.
Amazingly diverse, bustling yet quiet sanctuary from the city with some of the best food and bars in Brooklyn!
