It was the palace-fortress of the city's governing Muslims. Against the hillside of the mount of Gibralfaro, it was constructed in the XI century on the ruins of another Roman bastion. It consisted of 110 main towers and some smaller ones. The Torre del Homenaje deserves special attention.

The Alcazaba is a palatial fortification in Málaga. It was built by the Hammudid dynasty in the early 11th century. It is the best-preserved alcazaba in Spain. Adjacent to the entrance of the Alcazaba are remnants of a Roman theatre dating to the 1st century BC - worth paying a visit while you are in the area. You can also buy a combined ticket with Castillo Gibralfaro

interesting and informative place, very easy to reach - just a few steps up, at the conclusion of the excursion I advise to stop in a cafe with beautiful views of the sea, the landscape and walls of Alcazaba and fix this impression: a glass of wine with olives or a cup of coffee or ice cream for children
