2hr20min drive. Also known as coromandel cove. Beach only accessible by this walking track. I’d also explore Hahei, hot water beach while in this area, probably spend a night or two in the warmer months :)

A must-see in New Zealand. Famously a location in Prince Caspian, The Chronicles of Narnia. There are a few ways to get there. If you like walking, you can park for free in Hahei Village, or for a fee on Lees Road. (If you park at the paid parking on Lees Road you will not be able to take the water taxi back to your car.) If you park at the free lot in Hahei Village you can pay to take the shuttle to the top of the hill and shave 20 minutes off the walk, or you can begin the walk at the beach for free. If you are not much of a walker, park at the free lot in Hahei Village and take the water taxi from Hahei Beach. In the off season, check if it is running.

The photos speak for themselves. Stunning scenery and rock formations. Beautiful beach. Access from land or sea.

Many people come the visit our area specifically to see Cathedral Cove. There are two parking options: Hahei Village free car park where a shuttle is available to the top of the cliff start to the track. Without using the shuttle, you can walk to the beach and start the track from the beach. This adds about 30 minutes each direction to the walk. This is also the car park to choose if you are planning on using the water taxi at all. Lees Road. Paid parking that will cut your walk time in half. This is the car park that is advertised on the way to Hahei, where you will turn left on Lees Road.
