This local gem is taking over! Don't head to the North Market to wait in line for an hour....lucky you can walk 15 minuted to this hot spot featured on the Today show (aside from receiving a ton of national press). Known for their Hot Chicken and their hiring practices, stop in for a drumstick and Ma's mac. Believe what they say about the heat! You were warned.

Open 11 AM - 3 PM daily Hot Chicken Takeover is a little bit different from the other restaurants you’ll find on this list. They’re only open for lunch hours, and their menu is limited, but there is almost always a line out the door for a reason. They serve the best Nashville hot chicken sandwich you’ll find in the entire city, and their social model for employment is totally unique. They give formerly-homeless or incarcerated individuals a chance to earn a decent living, while giving back to the community. Delicious food aside, this place is well worth a visit.

Hot Chicken Takeover serves Nashville style hot chicken and it’s really good! They have another restaurant in Clintonville but we’d suggest going to the North Market location for lunch if you can!
