Seattle is a quirky place. There may not be anything more quirky than the Troll Statue in Fremont. Located underneath a bridge, this massive concrete statue hides in plain sight for tourists to take funny pictures and admire what makes Seattle so unique. Really fun for people of all ages, families…

The Fremont Troll was made famous by the movie “Ten Things I Hate About You”. This massive troll lives under the Aurora Bridge in the Fremont District. He holds a an old VW Beetle in his left hand. In the area there’s shops and restaurants for you to enjoy. Although parking can be a little difficult…

The Fremont Troll is nearby and it's a fun sight to see! Make sure to try out one of the great coffee shops nearby or locally-caught fish.

The Troll is the Gateway to Fremont and Ballard. Seattle traffic and neighborhoods are only navigable by experts. West Seattle to the Troll is a shortcut. And he is cool to see.

Parque
“A neat experience to see the old gas refinery infrastructure that is now a rustic playground with a great view of the cityscape as a backdrop!”

Canal Lock
“Ballard locks link the Puget Sound with Lake Union and Lake Washington. Boats as large as 760 feet in length and as small as a kayak can travel through the locks. The locks are also a critical link for salmon and steelhead heading upstream to spawn. A fish ladder with 21 steps or “weirs” allows spawning fish to climb to the freshwater side. Young fish, or “smolts” then return down through the locks out to Puget Sound.”

Zoo
“Years ago, the zoo gave up enclosed structures and bars separating the animals from visitors. Now the experience is a green meander from exhibit to exhibit. World class zoo! Bonus...outdoor summer concerts. Our personal fav is Portland's Pink Martini, seen them multiple times there!”

“I don't know who put the pic of the Ballard Locks here. Old Vladimir is much more impressive. You can meet up with him just a few blocks west of the Fremont Troll.”
