This is such a treat, booking is essential, all guests arrive at the same time and sit at a huge table, there is no menu, the food is amazing and pared with many unique South African wines. Really a fantastic experience, I return again and again!

A superb set menu by talented young chef, Julia Hattingh, using local, seasonal ingredients. You all sit at one shared, "social" table so you get to meet unexpected people. Book in advance.

Reverie Social Table, in the quaint old suburb Observatory, offers a unique dining experience. Guests (up to 20) are seated at one long dinner table and are served a 5 course meal paired with unique wines, often from boutique wine farms. A welcome drink is served on arrival and guests may seat themselves anywhere at the table. Chef Julia Hattingh will host guests and take them through a dining experience that will tickle the taste buds. Single travellers can meet up with locals or other travellers from South Africa or abroad. Teetotallers and folks with special dietary requirements can be catered for if Reverie is informed upon booking. Please note that this restaurant does not take walk-in guests - since all meals are freshly prepared, participation in the Social Table Evenings is done via bookings - visit their website www.reverie.capetown to make a reservation Highly recommended by Trip Advisor, this award winning restaurant is a must! Since the meal is paired with several severing of wine it is recommended to take a taxi or Uber to and from Reverie. Given the fine foods and wine being served over several hours, parents need to consider carefully whether to bring children to this particular restaurant.
