One of, if not the main highlight and tourist attraction in Chester. The zoo is a great, educational and fun day out. Circa 10 min drive

We’d be surprised if you haven’t heard about Chester Zoo especially after the TV documentary. It gets very busy at weekends and in school holidays. If you are staying at Christmas check out booking the Lanterns experience. We are members so we don’t have to book but if you can book in advance for day tickets for the zoo we’d recommend doing that as queues at the ticket desk can get big!!

Chester Zoo (www.chesterzoo.org) is a major wildlife charity that’s working to prevent extinction all around the world. It is the most popular conservation zoo in the UK and home to over 20,000 animals, from more than 500 different species.
