Drinks & Nightlife
I am told fun bars right in the Invermere town site are Shakman’s Bar and Lounge, 722 13th St., and Station Inn Pub, 1701 6th Ave., and Copper City Saloon, 1310 7th Ave.
We like to go to the Legion at 525 13th St. Invermere 250 342 9517. If you don’t have a membership you can ask someone at the bar to sign you in. They have a great supper on Friday nights with terrific home made food and fun draws. Phone for a reservation.

Sightseeing
The scenery in this valley is stunning. For a scenic drive I suggest a day trip to Golden and back.
Another day trip could be a drive up to Panorama Ski Resort. It is open for visitors year round. There is a free lift from the parking lot up to the ski hill complex that is fun to take, especially for children. In the summer we park by the complex and take the free lift down, have a walk around and then take it back up. There is a coffee shop and restaurant in the ski hill complex.
You can also pay to take the lift up the hill in the summer and enjoy hikes from up there where the scenery is stunning.

Parks & Nature
John Chabot Park is a 3 minutes walk from the complex. We spend many sunny summer hours there enjoying water sports, having picnics and soaking in the sun and scenery. In the other seasons it is a great destination for a walk. We take our coffee and sit on at a picnic table and gaze at the scenery.
In downtown Invermere you will find Pothole Park. It is a great place to take a break from shopping. There are also many planned activities centered in this park.
If you kids have skate boards or scooters be sure to take them to Mount Nelson Athletic Park to the west of the downtown area.

Arts & Culture
Fort Steele Heritage Town gives visitors a real understanding of life in the Columbia Valley about 150 years ago. It is a 1 hour and 15 minute drive south from Invermere but worth the trip. Plan to spend the day. They also feature summer theatre each year with a play based on local history and folklore.
The new library facility is located in the new Community Centre across from the Sobey’s grocery store.
The public park at Kinsman’s beach is also a great place to take the kids.
