A 10 minute drive from the cabin. Nice, easy, winding, 30-40 minutes one way. Incredible 360 degree views. The tallest mountain in Floyd County.

Buffalo Mountain Natural Area Preserve

This hike is all-time. A series of connected trails that can be done independently or together for a 11 mile loop. The hike takes you along a ridge line down into a valley/meadow and back up top. It has some steep sections and can be slightly vigorous during the ascents. Entire loop can be easily done at a leisurely pace in 5 hours. This is the hike that spawned the purchase of the cabin!
