The South Algonquin Diner is only a hop, skip and a jump from 40 Winks. The food is great, lots of choice on the menu and the serving are generous. If you’re a Geocacher ask for the GeoBurger.

Chip Truck just 3km outside of Wilberforce at the intersection of Loop Rd and Farr road. Pick up a burger and fries and eat it at the Wilbermere beach just around the corner.

Grab a beer and enjoy a game of pool at the local Legion. Darts every Wed. Wings and Jan Session on the 2st and 4th Fridays of the month. Scallops and Ham supper on the first Fri. and Spaghetti dinner on the 3rd Friday. Every Saturday there’s a “Meat Draw” (maybe you’ll win steaks for supper). If you happen to be lucky enough to be in town on the second Sunday of the month the Legion Ladies put on a scrumptious Breakfast 9:00 until noon. Everyone welcome, you don’t have to be a member, men, just remember to remove your hat before entering

40 Winks is nestled between two Provincial Parks. The East Gate of Algonquin Park is just over an hour north of Wilberforce and Silent Lake Provincial Park is just a 15 min. drive from 40 Winks. Both offer hiking trails, swimming beaches and picnic areas in the summer and cross country ski trails in winter.

At the end of a 2 km hike (4 km round trip) High Falls offers breathtaking views of tumbling Falls and restless Rapids. Or instead of hiking, paddle to the base of the falls. A relaxing way to spend at least half the day, if not the entire day. Pack a lunch
