Sightseeing

Looking for great mountain views or a peek into the past?
Take the gondola up from Reuti for absolutely stunning mountain views. Walk out from the restaurant terrace to see the paragliders taking off on a clear day. The restaurant serves a champagne brunch buffet which is a lovely treat, and the Tower Bar (above the restaurant) is the perfect spot for a coffee or a glass of wine. If you're adventurous, you can hike back down to Mägisalp or across to Hääggen and Käserstatt.

Interlaken is a real tourist magnet. Personally, I prefer Brienz which is quieter and more off the beaten path. However, if Interlaken is on your itinerary, consider going by boat from Brienz. The boat ride is spectacular and takes a bit more than an hour. Check out the schedules at fahrplan.bls.ch

A great way to see how the Swiss lived and farmed in the 19th century and earlier. There are always lots of demonstrations (cheese-making, spinning wool, making horseshoes...), the possibility of taking a horse and buggy ride and enjoying a typical Swiss meal on-site. Just be aware that the houses are spread out across a very large area, so you'll be doing a fair bit of walking (or take advantage of that buggy ride)! The closest entrance from Hasliberg is the East Entrance, in 3856 Brienzwiler.
