Sightseeing

This is our favorite beauty spot. enjoy a well-marked walk with breathtaking views and the waves crashing against the white cliffs. The seven sisters are seven hills. We work our way up the hills and then enjoy the down-hill before working our way up the next hill We like to start in Seaford and finish at Birling Gap. However, you can start in Eastbourne [without a car] and there are endless different routes you can take. There are several opportunities to go down to the water and have a splash. 'Seven sisters' is a highly popular attraction and we always meet lots of nice people.

Great variety of entertainment, dining & gift shops, above the crashing waves with the view of the sea on all sides. Re-live history while tracing Tom Thumbs steps along the promenade and stop off at the pier [For Absolute honesty it must be noted that Tom Thumb sat in the back of a horse drawn carriage and did not walk the 8-minute walk!]

Food scene

Everyone loves this ice cream parlour. Some people come to Eastbourne just for the ice cream!

Genuine Italian food in great atmosphere....You could almost believe you are in italy! I don't want to take sides here but it is possibly the best Pizza in the south of England! Personally I would recommend the carbonara - it’s amazing! Hope you enjoy it....

Just a great café for breakfast or lunch. 10-15 minute walk. just walk straight down the Coast road and then turn left at Beach Road. Can get very busy so may be worth booking a table - fyi closes early

A traditional glassworks gift shop with everything made in the shop! I can spend hours watching them make these works of art ... If you are lucky enough, you will see them being made in front of your eyes.

Art

If you like Art 'Towner' is going to be a winner! Judging from the architecture it was certainly not here when Tom Thumb came - he would have loved it though. A very popular award winning art gallery in the centre of Eastbourne. Four minute drive or a 20 minute stroll along the coast road [turn right when you get to coast road] and then right at Wilmington Square Garden. Entrance is free [they do ask for donation] and there are 2 upper levels to explore exhibitions from some talented artists. There is a bookshop, giftshop, children's playground, cinema and a cafeteria. Note: Exhibitions are changed regularly so worth finding out beforehand what is on display.
