I like to tell people that the best restaurant in Ann Arbor is actually in Ypsilanti! Bellflower is a gem of a restaurant whose base flavors come from cajun and creole cooking, but whose chef-driven menu changes daily (check Insta for the latest menu). I'm always surprised and delighted by what arrives to the table. Takes walk-ins.

Miss Kim is a modern Korean restaurant in a beautiful space in Kerrytown. The chef, Ji Hye Kim, has received several national accolades in recent years - highly recommend!

A beautiful little gem of a jazz club right downtown. Check their website for nightly listings. Beautiful, high-end menu, great wine and cocktails. Incredibly gorgeous, luxe interior.

For a great steak, look no further than Knights! They have two locations - the downtown location is modern and refined, while the Dexter location is the original and wonderfully kitschy with its wood paneling. In both places, you can find their famously stiff drinks, superb steaks grilled to order, and lots of other options as well. Reservations recommended.
