If you love brunch at all times this place is a must!! Roux serves it morning until night at super affordable prices. They do not take reservations and it can be busy on the weekends especially after 9a-10a however it is worth the wait! It is also located right on U of C's campus!

Mesler offers great food and even better drinks. There is a bar with TVs if you want to sit and watch a game. There is also an outdoor patio. It is located right on 53rd Street which makes it easy to take a stroll down the street and peruse local stores/shops or listen to an artist playing live music on the street. Best of all they do accept reservations which are usually available daily.

This is a newer spot on the scene but it is gaining a lot of attention. They serve a great variety of wines and the food is pretty tasty as well. Its definitely a must try being that it is so close to this listing.

Another great place that is in Bronzeville and great for brunch. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge especially on the weekends so I would recommend grabbing and uber. Its worth it!

A hyde park gem! Valois is a breakfast diner style restaurant. It is definitely a must try while in on the Southside!

This is the first and only African American children's museum in the country that has different exhibits helping kids learn about healthy eating, stem, the history of Bronzeville and African American contributions.

Oakwood Beach is actually one of Chicago's newer beaches! Its a 15 min walk and 5 min drive. Swimming is allowed from 11am -7 pm while a life guard is present. If you're not into swimming in Lake Michigan, there's ample trails for biking or running along the lake. There are also a number of events especially during the warmer months that are great to check out!
