Beaches

If you crave a long, cleansing walk on a deserted beach, this is the one. If you get the tides sorted out you can walk for miles. If not, you can still walk for ages. And the ice cream in the shop is so thick it is kind of chewy. In a good way. And they make excellent French Fry chips.

This is the premier beach in the area and you can walk along it to the island where you can look at old stuff. You have to watch the tides. Looking back at your wading through the cold sea will be a tale to tell and comedy gold, but at the time no one will be happy.

Sightseeing

Caernarfon is pretty happening. It has a MASSIVE castle if you like that kind of thing. It has a station for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Mountain Railway. Lots of small caffs and stuff. The Anglesey pub is a great place to sit outside and watch the sun go down - as long as you have a designated driver, obv.

Walking

This is a walk which is not super challenging, but you will know that you have taken in some fabulous views and lots and lots of fresh air. You can stop when you get to the top of the initial path and marvel at the classic U shaped valley below, or carry on and get more adventurous. I have tried to find a picture of the valley below but they are all copyrighted so it would be unfair for me to use them. Do a web search for "Nant Ffrancon" and you will get the idea. Do a web search for "Nant Ffrancon Circular Walk" for a nice circular walk. I cannot link on here I am afraid.

This is the big mountain. It is the one people want to walk up. Do not be fooled, it is not an easy stroll. There is also the train which goes up it - I suspect you will need to book in advance. You could go on Crib Goch on Snowdon, but really that is for head cases.

You can walk to the pier and back home in a nice circular walk which would take about 1.5 hours all in. Or you could drive there a lot quicker.

Eating

Slightly further away (20 mins walk over a stonking bridge) you will find Dylans - seafood and pizzas etc. Sosban - proper fine dining - don't bother unless you have booked 4 months in advance. Tom's Hamburger House - take a guess. Freckled Angel - Small Plate/Tapas kind of vibe. +39 - Italian Cafe Caws - cheesmonger with stonking sandwiches. J Swain Butchers - lots of nice stuff, but the Chicken and Ham pie is my favourite. Green Olive - Vegan Cafe. Numerous caffs All will provide a lovely meal/evening.

Shopping for food

Morrisons is 2 minutes walk away, around the corner. If that does not float your boat Bangor also has Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Asda as well as several more specialist food shops. If you feel like stretching out, Waitrose is over the Menai Bridge as well as the Dylan's bread and cake shop. The best bakery in the area is Central Bakery in Beaumaris - about 15 mins in the car but OHHHHHH the bread is sublime. You will be able to tell by my figure that I have never tried the cakes there. Obviously, I am lying now.

Adventure.

This place is great if it is your kind of thing. It is not for me, but lots of people love it. The world would be very boring if we all loved the same things.

Going to church

Penrallt Baptist Church is a 4 minute walk up the road and has a service at 10.30 which lasts approx one hour and fifteen minutes every Sunday morning. There is a Sunday school which takes place after the 1st 3rd of the morning service. Tea and coffee afterwards. They are a friendly bunch.
