If you can swing a more expensive meal, this is one of my favorite farm to table American restaurants. It is an upscale / fancier atmosphere and will cost a good deal but it is worth it!

Very hip East Village cafe with outdoor seating and farm to table fresh food. I have been eating here at the same time and right next to Ryan Gosling. It can be a scene.

Located on Avenue B which is a still up and coming, super hip area of the city -- this place is top notch creative, farm to table, super gourmet, sustainable they grow some of their own food, etc --- somewhat famous chef --- amazing amazing amazing food -- try eating out on their back deck.

In the lower eastside part of the city (a very cool more locals hangout) -- this would be the epitome of swanky, sceney, beautiful people, great food, clubby-ish but not too bad -it's worth it for a fun dinner if you can afford it.

One of the newest rooftop bars in the city -- and not in the touristy area -- this is in the LES side which is a very locals area for having drinks. This rooftop is my favorite -- the views are unmatched -- they are positioned amazingly to see 360 degree views of the city.
