Nice huge multi sports arena and swimming pool all surrounded by a nice and relaxing green area! Equipped with two pools one for adults, and one for kids and toddlers who can also enjoy a super fun water slide. During summer it’s a hot spot for families and teens of the Luganese area. During the weekend make sure to go early to reserve your spot on the shade. Since weekends are pretty popolar also parking is difficult, so the earlier the better! Inside the arena there is a beach volley court, a skate park, a baseball court, a fitness trail and also a bar!

Nearby The Comfy Apartment [easy to reach by bus or car]
Nice supermarket plus an upstairs appliance store for a last minute urgent need. It’s my fav spot for buying fresh veggies, fruits and organic products. Here you’ll also find some nice Italian food brands too. This supermarket will be convenient for you to go if you have no car and are using public transportation. You’ll have a convenient bus stop in front of The Comfy Apartment, and the bus will stop you right in front of the Manor store (10-15min bus ride).

Cute small mountain village with many trails from easy to more strenuous to walk around. Either you go by car or hiking, or half and half it is definitely worth a visit specially if you are looking forward to breathtaking views and breathing fresh air. Also, I would recommend to stop by the small businesses around there and buy some nice local products. I often go there to buy fresh cheese and it is amazing!

Tip of a beautiful Mount with panoramic view of Lugano city, and if you are lucky enough to find a clear day you will see the whole really far away surroundings. It can be quite amazing! Very nice to go up by walking (up-hill) but it can also be a nice experience to get up to the top riding the funicular! There is a restaurant up there if you want to drink or eat something. Nothing super but at least it has an amazing view! *Car parking tip, get there a little in advance and in case the funicular car parking is full (it’s small and in busy periods gets quite full) you can find street parking around there or at the Mantegazza parking which is 5min walk).

Lovely hike with amazing walking trails, lake and forest view. There are two options here, one is the trail that from the village than kind of circles around itself allowing you to walk in the forest and around the lake, another trail instead is you go up inside the forest (more vertical) and takes you to the top of Mount Caslano and than descending again to the village. Both are nice, it just depends on what feels right for you!

Beautiful and relaxing naturalistic area, very peaceful to walk or bike around. I would suggest you starting from the Lugano Lake Camping Area (there is also a cute little cafe in case you need anything) and then follow the ciclo-bike-walk-path you will arrive to the nice big park - Agno Public Parc - super nice for adults and kids too. Bring your picnic blanket or bath towel so you can stop there for sunbathing/relaxing/picnic/ or even sports activities on the lake! Lido di Agno will offer you many opportunities for surfing, canoeing, or paddling perhaps? Plenty of boat activities and renting too. If you are more for walking/cycling activities keeping going ahead of the Agno Public Park there is a beautiful belvedere trail of the Agno gulf which can take you to Magliaso, then Caslano and up to Lavena Ponte Tresa in Italy! For sure at least doing the Agno lake front walk is worth the view!

Must do hike if you are near Lugano for a few days and/or maybe you have already visited the most popular attractions of the area. Monte Boglia certainly will not disappoint! You can approach the top from several sides and routes. Moderate to difficult hike, depending on which path you pick. I would suggest it only if you are already familiar with hiking. If you are brave enough to walk right from the Gandria car park to Monte Boglia, the round trip takes around 4.5 hours in total, the first 5.5 miles to the top are pretty much all uphill. The elevation is pretty intense so be sure you are prepared for it. The last 30 minutes is just wow, stunning! Really well worth the effort! From the station Monte Bré Paese to the Monte Boglia there are several paths, the easiest is the one starting from the Bre village playground. I have been told that walking around 30min more you can reach the Denti della Vecchia mountain but never done it myself. If you have no car is not a problem because there is a bus from Lugano which goes up to Mt Bre village so they got you covered! Tips: Moderate hike but I would recommend hiking shoes. Wear layers if going in autumn or spring time, and be aware it can get pretty windy specially once you reach the top. Bring enough water with you. If going in summer specially if taking the long route start your hike early to avoid midday sun or at least get there prepared perhaps wearing a hat and sunscreen. Be careful with your decision if you easily get height sickness! You know, sometimes the view is beautiful but pricey at the same time!

Stunning view, one of the most beautiful places I have visited in my life not “just” for the view itself but rather for the majestic energy you can feel once you are on the top. There is a lot to walk around with the possibility to reach the real tip top of the mountain. I honestly tried to get there but unfortunately I got height sickness and had walk back from the highest point but I have enjoyed walking around! It’s really amazing the joy and the sense of freedom you certainly breathe there observing this immense valley in front of your eyes! Tips: If walking wear hiking shoes, be aware of the weather changes and plan accordingly to that. The top of the mountain is usually pretty windy so protect your head and ears if you are sensitive. The top is also colder than when you start your hike so wear layers. During summer time avoid the midday sun, bring enough water to hydrate and wear sunscreen. If going with kids or toddler please be mindful, and watch them out it can be tricky in some points. Doable in my opinion but get more information to decide about yourself. Suggestion: You can hike the mountain from the bottom (pretty vertical but doable) or take the funicular. I actually did half walking because it was winter time and the weather was not promising. Parked the car where the paved road ends and then walk up in the forest till the second train stop and then bought a ticket and took the little train to the top. It was beautiful. Ps. There is a restaurant and bar in case you need anything.

Verzasca valley is really worth a visit if you are at the Comfy Apartment!!! If you go early morning you should really take advantage of the numerous hiking trails to visit the area and also visiting some of the little super cute villages such as Lavertezzo, Sonogno, Brione and afterwords descend and sunbathing at the popular river and the Ponte dei Salti and maybe jump off the rock of the bridge, it will be a lifetime experience for sure!!! Stunning views, amazing cristal clear water but be aware, the water is very cold also in the summer and you need to be extra careful when bathing in the water because it's quite insidious. Very beautiful view of both Lugano Lake and Maggiore Lake from the tip. I took the funicular from Miglieglia village and then once up I did the Sentiero Insubrico Belvedere, an easy walk of about one hour pretty easy for me. There are many options though if you feel like walking more. The view is so beautiful here that I really recommend this place, it just was so hot that didn’t feel ready of adventuring too much. Ps. I have been told by the local guardian that descending is a very nice path to do as well, and pretty easy (1.30 h walk down to Miglieglia).

This is a very nice easy/moderate hike close to the Comfy Apartment. It’s the sentiero Odogno - Bettagno in Gola di Lago. It is a circle path. A beautiful walk in the woods, very relaxing. Beautiful view to the Agno area and lake once you reach the upper part of the path.

Another fantastic hike I did in Capriasca, specifically in Valcolla. Tho arriving required some time and getting through a twisty road it is a wonderful valley worth a visit. I have enjoyed the all valley as a quiet, clean, wild place, with nice people ready to give you a tip for your hike and arrived to the town Colla, where this strali to the Barchi di Colla starts. The day was super hot and there is no much shade along the way so I would suggest anyone going in summertime to wear a hat, and sunscreen too. The trail is pretty much all uphill, not difficult but to be honest being under the sun made it a little tough at times so I had to pause a few minutes. All doable and all good, hiking shoes are not strictly required. I was amazed by the all surrounding Alps you have all around you specially in the last part of the walk. It’s just breathtaking! When you arrive at the Barchi di colla there is a Rifugio where you can stop for having lunch on the shade (the rifugio was closed and we left a little appreciation tip on the outdoor wood table we used). If you walk another hour or so you can reach the tip of the mountain which was pretty cool to see from the rifugio, but be aware the trail to the top is marked as difficulty type hard in the maps because of the elevation. I tried to go for a bit but had to give up due to extreme heat.

Another nice hike to do in Capriasca surrounded by nature and woods. This is a moderate hike due to elevation (~450 elevation gain from Isone to Alpe Zalto) beside this the trail is well maintained and easy to follow. And also very important, here you are going to be walking on woods shade for the most part, which is quite nice in summer time. Starting from Isone village, after parking your car follow directions for Ai Mürecc (after getting in a private closed road not showed by signs we finally asked to a local man who was super kind and showed us the way and gave us tips for the trail. So we arrived at the Ai Murecc which is basically the Alp you see in front of you from the village and while eating we met a kind man and chatted a little bit. He strongly suggested us to keep walking from there another 35 min walking inside the canyon - not much elevation in this part of the trail - to reach the Alpe Zalto, (following the scenic trail signs that go up is also helpful to easily make sure you are on the correct trail). Fantastic nature, peaceful atmosphere with a super nice river/water sounds surrounding your walk, beautiful landscapes and views. Tip1. If you keep walking another 15 minutes from the Alpe Zalto you will arrive to Gola di Lago, it’s quite amazing to kind of experience yourself how this wild territory is inter-connected! Tip2. I strongly recommend you to bring your hike sticks if you have your own. I borrowed a nice piece of wood from Mother Nature and I have to say it was quite helpful while ascending the trail! Tip3. While walking back to Isone most likely you will find free cows at the beginning of the descending path. Keep calm and walk through them, they are big but super calm, not armful at all.

The perfect spot to have great authentic grotto food if you are in the Valle Verzasca! Food was great and it’s also close to the waterfall La Froda so it’s actually a great spot to recharge after the little hike! It is good to mention that on a busy day most likely you will have to wait a bit to be seated unless you have a reservation so just call them prior! But also if you do not have one to be honest it will be totally worth the waiting!

Beautiful, romantic and authentic place to have a nice dinner. Great quality and choice of ingredients with a good choice for vegetarians too. I always go there on quiet nights, not really on busy ones so everything is always really organized and on point. A little more expensive than an average grotto but I must say the service and quality of food is also above compared to an average grotto.

Oh you really MUST have a stop here! Authentic Italian Gelato. For real, and I am Italian. That’s all I have to say.

One of the few places in Lugano were to find authentic italian homemade fresh bread. I always get the whole wheat one (multiple options) and also focaccia is to die for here.

Amazing bakery. Cakes here are really top. I have tried many in Ticino and this is absolutely the best. It doesn’t look fancy outside but in the end: who cares if they make such of delicious cakes?! I think it also works as a tea room/coffee shop, so you can even try a slice of cake right there or pastries or I guess basically anything you see there! (Never tried bread or pastries myself, only fresh cakes and they were absolutely TOP)
