To Taormina:
- 50 minutes by slow train €4 for each ride,
- 36 minutes by fast train €9 for each ride
- 1h 20minutes by bus for €8,50 to go and get back (we suggest to take the bus that drives you to the center of Taormina).
Taormina is a comune in the Metropolitan City of Messina, on the east coast of the island of Sicily. Taormina has been a tourist destination since the 19th century. Its beaches on the Ionian sea, including that of Isola Bella makes this place very crowd during the summer. Even in the winter we suggest to visit the town of Taormina which is perched on a cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea. Besides the ancient Greek theatre, it has many old churches, lively bars, fine restaurants and antique shops.

Come andare sull'ETNA
Per l’Etna c’è un solo Autobus al giorno che parte alle 8.15 di mattina in direzione ETNA SUD e rientra in città alle 16,30. Il bus impiega circa 2 ore ma il biglietto costa veramente poco (6,20€ a/r). E' possibile acquistare il biglietto al bar del bus terminal presso la stazione Piazza Giovanni XXIII.
Altrimenti ci sono ovviamente gite private con costi più elevati ma con molti più confort 😊
In alternativa: partecipa al tour "Etna + Gole dell'Alcantara" della durata di 8 h. Oltre al trekking sull'Etna avrai anche modo di visitare le Gole di Alcantara, create migliaia di anni fa.

How to get ETNA?
To get the mountain Etna there the AST bus from Catania to Etna Sud that leaves at 08.h15. The bus drives back from Etna Sud at 16h30. The trip takes 2 hours (one way) and the bus makes a short stop in Nicolosi.
Along the way you can enjoy some spectacular views along the flanks of the volcano. A ticket costs € 6.20 per person (return ticket).
TIP: You can buy the ticket in the bar at the bus terminal.
The AST bus leaves near the train station. Catania train station is located at Piazza Giovanni XXII.
