A day at Starfish Beach / Playa Estrella is worthwhile. From the Yarisnori restaurant (end of the bus line from Bocas Town), it's about a 20-minute walk to the beach. The view is outstandingly beautiful and offers great photo motifs - from palm trees to mangroves. Once at the beach, it becomes more touristy, with water sports offered there and small beach bars. The water is shallow and calm, and therefore very suitable for children to swim. In the water there are lots of starfish.
If you want, you can also be brought from the bus station for 1-2 $ to the beach or book other boat tours there.

By boat you leave from Bocas Town and on Ilsla Bastimentos a jetty awaits you in the mangrove forest. The way to the hotel complex Palmar (entrance fee 2-3 $/p.P.) winds through a beautifully laid out path through varied nature. On the way you will pass a small lake with caimans.
You will reach Redfrog Beach at the end and are therefore on the other side of the island.
Turn left along the beach to Wizard Beach, a secluded beach with a beautiful path along the water. Partly you have to climb a bit over rocks and trees at the water.
To the right is the hotel complex with restaurant located directly on the beach. Snacks and cool drinks and many tourists await you there.
The beach is nice for wave bathing and suitable for children.

Delicious cuisine, fresh fish dishes, pasta, burgers - good cocktails (until 4 pm happy hour for 2.5-3$), well attended by locals. Beautifully located on the water, sometimes with live music and even there I watched the chef catching the fish with a fishing rod directly into the kitchen - it doesn't get any fresher than that !

A very varied excursion to the Isla Colon directly offshore small island of Carenero - for $1 you can start the trip with the water cab from Isla Colon and best let me drop you off near the Aqua Lounge. Here you start the round trip around the island clockwise. It starts after the only supermarket in a small typical local village, you will see the simple life - everything is a bit dirty but has flair, children play on the path or swim in the sea. People sit on their terrace in deck chairs or play board games. The small path winds through the middle of it. Then you will see beautifully landscaped resorts by the sea and very well-kept private houses with flowering gardens. If you follow the path to the end, it ends at cliffs - before that you can follow the second signpost to Bibi's restaurant - you will cross the island and come to secluded bays. There you can have a good refreshment and swim. The headland offers a with great view, benches to relax and beautiful photo motifs. From the headland you can see the surf hotspots, where big waves roll to the shore and surfers are waiting for their wave. The path along the coast will take you to beaches where local families relax and swim, especially on weekends. The restaurant Bibi's is highly recommended, very good fish dishes and reasonably priced, until 4pm happy hour with delicious cocktails for $3 - the restaurant is always busy. On the next pontoons you can be taken back to town for $2 or walk back to Aqua Loundge, very close to the typical life. Duration about 1 hr + restaurant visit if necessary. We took a water cab from there to the Floating Bar last time and enjoyed the sunset on the sea to end a beautiful day.
Since the end of December, there is a new floating bar, very modern and great design - but with the aftertaste that a small cocktail already costs $ 7.5 - the old floating bar offers much more, a bathing island and very nice staff, often live music and delicious snacks - That everyone must decide for himself, what he is just... Have fun on the trip - varied impressions and Caribbean flair pure !
