Cannaregio
My favourite area of Venice. Young, vibrant, often quieter and more Venitian. Just get lost and visit the church of La Madonna dell’Orto and the church of Sant’Alvise. Hop from a bar to the next one in Fondamenta della Misericordia. Lunch at Rioba, wines and cicchetti at Vino Vero.
A fantastic day out on a sunny day. Rent a bike in Santa Maria Elisabetta (close to the vaporetto arrival on tbe Lido) and slowly make your way to “Celeste Restaurant” in Pellestrina. Stop for a Prosecco in Malamocco, check ferry times to Pellestrina, and enjoy the experience. In total (to go and come back) it is 40km of biking so it requires some level
of fitness.

Good restaurants are booked long in advance as they are often small. My favourites: Ai Artisti, Antiche Carampane, da Rioba, da Bepi già 54, Alle Testiere, afternoon Tea and cakes at Harri’s Bar

Public Transport
If walking is not your thing get a day (or for the length of your stay) pass as the single tickets are very expensive and if you take 3 boats a day you will amortize your day pass.

Rialto Market
If you enjoy cooking go shop for your food at the fabulous Rialto Market rather than supermarkets. You will get better ingredients and you will help thise who care for quality

Food Shopping near the apartment
There are 2 Supermarkets near the apartment, both Conad, on the Zattere. One is near Santo Spirito and the other one (bigger and with more choice) at San Basilio. In Campo San Barnaba there is a famous fruit and Vegetables on a floating boat, and in Campo Santa Margherita a good butcher and fish stall in the mornings.

Disposal of the Rubbish
Every day you can put outside your door before 10.15 your normal rubbish (everything you cannot recycle). On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays you can put outside Paper and cartonbox that can go in the same bag, and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday glass and metal that go together in the same bag.
