Nice loop trails of different lengths. The trails are for hiking and mountain biking. There is a pretty creek at the beginning. There is a long dirt road to the trail head. A normal car is fine but if it's been raining just take your time.

Murphy River Walk is a very nice walking path that runs along the Valley River flowing through downtown Murphy. Relaxing, easy and lots to look at. There are little stations to scan QR codes with your phone and listen to historic info about the area. If you google Murphy's River Walk it does not show you the proper place to park. Google the two following places to find nice parking lots:

If you're into shooting, Panther Top Range is a public, outdoor range that is pretty quiet during the week. There is no one working there. There is an honor box that you put $3.00 in per person that is shooting. Public restroom available.

This is a cool spot just below the Hiwassee Dam. You can fish off the rocks and catch trout. There is also a boat ramp and picnic tables.

There is a parking lot just after you cross the dam. Nice views and public restrooms. I believe there is a nice walking path across the street from the parking lot, but I haven't personally checked it out yet.

Here there is a boat ramp along with parking. You can explore and walk around the lake.

One of my favorite places. There is a short loop trail that hosts a nice waterfall. There are other short trails to explore as well. Also, this is where you can start the Fires Creek Rim Trail which is a 24mile hike that people usually complete in 2 or 3 days. There are picnic tables, BBQ grills and a public restroom. This is one of the best places to go fly fishing for trout. Beautiful place.

Also, this is where you can start the Fires Creek Rim Trail which is a 24mile hike that people usually complete in 2 or 3 days. There are picnic tables, BBQ grills and a public restroom. This is one of the best places to go fly fishing for trout. Beautiful place.
This is a picnic area next to the Nantahala Gorge. Public restrooms available. There are many stops on this road along the gorge and it is beautiful. The river is popular for white water rafting and kayaking. You can catch trout here as well. great place to visit.

If you're into history this will be a nice stop. It's not a huge place but neither is Murphy! I haven't personally visited yet but the reviews look decent.

Deckers Flea Market is a really cool place to walk around if you like antiques and bargain shopping. There's also some local produce and snacks in the same area.
